3D Print Tips

PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I just started this 3D Print Tips page in August `23 and I am still working on it. So it is surely not complete. Please let me know if there is any info you would like to see on it.

Why another website about 3D printing?

On some 3D printing groups on Facebook, many times the same questions are asked. And most of these questions are the ones also I struggled with when I started with 3D Printing. I started with 3D printing spring 2022, so I am surely no experienced user.

There are many groups to ask for help (like the public “3D Printing” group on Facebook). Also there are bunch of good video`s on Youtube and there are also a lot of good websites.

So why did I start this one? Mostly to create a kind of “onestop website”. A combination of some info I wrote myself, but mostly links to existing websites and youtube video`s that are out there.

Some websites are great, but their info can be overwelming. At least, that is what I experienced. And when looking for info on a particular subject, it`s not always easy to get the right info. That`s why I made this website, gathering all the info and links to info that helped me.

I will add advanced info later on, so for more difficult matters, you can find some help here too.

Important is to get used to the naming of things. See this LINK to get to know them.

Setting up your printer

Main pages to find here:

  • Maintenance: Bedlevel, bedcleaning and filament treatment
  • Printing Filament: best settings and requirements for printing different kind of filaments
  • Issues: most issues and there solutions

It isn`t really useful to ask others about their profile in Cura, or what temperatures/retraction settings they are using. Even if we had the same printer, we still would have other values because no printer/environment is the same.
